Our Approach to Family Law
We strive to bring a professional approach to family law litigation. Our goal is solve your family law problem without unnecessary expense, conflict or delay, while obtaining a satisfactory result given the facts and circumstances of your case.
There is a perception that some family law attorneys stir up unnecessary conflicts to generate additional attorney’s fees. We do not do this, and do not go along with opposing attorneys who try to play this game.
Most family law cases are settled, but sometimes that is just not possible. When a case is not likely to settle, we believe a good outcome is dependent upon careful and thorough preparation for trial. The family law attorney must be able to do this efficiently and cost-effectively, within the client’s budget.
Fees:
Our fee for family law litigation is $150.00 per hour plus court costs and litigation expenses. A refundable retainer is required and varies depending upon the complexity of the case.
Uncontested Divorces
We offer economical, flat fees for uncontested divorces, as follows:
- Uncontested divorce with waiver of service: $300.00 plus court costs.
- Uncontested divorce without waiver of service: $400 plus court costs and process server costs.
- Uncontested divorce requiring service by publication: $500 plus court costs, service costs and guardian attorney’s fees.
Our flat fees for uncontested matters include much more than just preparing legal forms. For example, we provide you with legal advice and guidance in connection with your divorce. We keep you updated on the progress of your case. We handle all of the details and make sure the process is completed professionally and promptly.
